What is Electroporation?

Electroporation is a technique in which an electrical field is applied to cells to increase the permeability of the membranes, allowing products to be introduced into the cell more efficiently. Its application to the skin has been shown to increase transdermal product delivery by several orders of magnitude. Used alone or in combination with skin needling, electroporation expands the range of products that can be delivered trans-dermally.
